Who else needs the beach, grub, and some booze? I know I do! Savor SoFlor is celebrating its ninth year here in Hollywood, Florida on the 2.5 mile boardwalk we all know and love.
Why Hollywood Beach?
"My heart is in Broward," said Tammy Gail, owner and founder of the company. "The challenge was to find a venue with the bone structure to put out tents as big as theirs on the beach. As beautiful as it is, there are not a lot of locations that have the space they needed."
Hollywood Beach had two things that were great for Gail: its boardwalk and lack of a food & beverage event like this.
Savor SoFlo not only features national brands but also local ones to provide an overall "superior food & wine festival in Broward county that caters towards this community," she said.
While protocols are being placed to remain safe in times of a global pandemic, Savor SoFlo is still excited to put on an event that Hollywood has never seen. Past events have seen large activations from the likes of Tito's Vodka, Publix, and Bacardí, to name a few.
However, this event isn't just to have people try a new wine or dish, it's also to help The Glam-A-Thon Charity, Gail's own breast cancer charity in South Florida. This year, they are teaming up with Memorial Hospital in Hollywood to launch a new breast cancer hospital to help underserved and underinsured women who need treatment. So far, they've donated $600,000.
