Dogfish Head Starts Residency at Concrete Beach Brewery

Updated: Apr 11, 2020

Big things are happening at Concrete Beach Brewery lately and if you haven't yet, it's time to get a little thirsty and try them out.

For the first time, Delaware-based Dogfish Head will have their beers available on tap for a limited time. It's time to take a seat and try one of the four:

  • 60 Minute IPA (6% ABV) – Their continually hopped, East Coast IPA brewed with a slew of Northwest hops for a powerful, but balanced citrusy hop character.

  • SeaQuench Ale (4.9% ABV) – Their sour quencher brewed with limes & sea salt. Sour mash-up of a crisp Kölsch, a salty Gose and a tart Berliner Weiss brewed in sequence with black limes, sour lime juice and sea salt. Best-selling sour beer in America.

  • Slightly Mighty (4% ABV) – All the flavor of a world-class IPA, but with only 95 calories, 3.6g carbs, 1g protein and 0g fat per 12oz serving.

  • Vibrant P’Ocean (4.7% ABV) – A collaboration between Dogfish Head and Belgium's Rodenbach Brewry, this blended sour is one part two-year, feader-aged sour brewed with pilsner malt, malted wheat, elderberry, elderflow, lemon slices, and fleur-de-sel.

  • Supereight (5.3% ABV) - Super gose that's brewed with eight heroic ingredients: prickly pear, mango, boysenberry, raspberry, elderberry, kiwi juices, toasted quinoa, and red Hawaiian sea salt.

To me, the Vibrant P'Ocean and Supereight taste very similar. I like fruity and smoother beers, so I drank these two down fairly easily. Bottom line is: they're both absolutely

delicious!

Besides tapping Dogfish beers, the two breweries are working together with Argentinian-based Cerveza Artesanal Okcidenta to create a new beer: De Las Americas. It will not only feature aspects of Florida and Delaware, but also includes Argentinian rose hops, Argentinean river island honey and a unique sour culture from Okcidenta's Barrel Program. De Las Americas is available starting on March 13.

So I'll be going until they run out of Dogfish beer and, hopefully, decide to tap more and more and more and more.
