Certified: Germans Can Cook Italian Food - Vapiano

Updated: Apr 12, 2020

For a place with mouthwatering pasta, pizza, and dessert options, wide open space, and cheeky decorations, you would never guess Vapiano is originally German. I thought Germans only knew how to make sausage and beer?

I thought wrong.

The Vapiano in Brickell, Miami is overwhelmingly beautiful and chaotic, in a good way. For those of us who get stressed from ordering at Subways, get ready.

  • Go inside Vapiano and receive what looks like a gift card.

  • Stand back and study the various pasta stations and one pizza station (all the way to the right).

  • Once you’ve decided what you’re in the mood for, order it, scan your card, and enjoy

  • Watch as your food is made right in front of you.

  • Grab a buzzer and find a table in the perfect spot so you can admire all the artwork on the walls and lighting above. (Pssst: there’s two floors, so don’t worry about not getting a table.)

  • Devour your food.

  • Pay with your card at the exit.

  • Grab some Haribo gummy bears for the road! Remember, it is German after all.

The first Vapiano started in Hamburg, Germany and they’ve expanded all over the world so the next time you travel and find one, get ready for fantastic food.

You’re bound to have a spiritual experience with this food, promise.

Portions here don’t play around, so get ready to eat. Picky eater? No problem, the chefs are incredibly nice, funny even, and will prepare any meal to your liking. Even the herbs on the tables aren’t just for decoration, you can also put them on your plate.

Vapiano's calzone is so large, start asking for that to-go box well in advance.

Know before you go:

  • Don’t forget to ask to get your parking validated at the end.

  • There is unlimited bread, you just might have to ask for it.

  • It’s pretty casual, no need to dress up.

  • Look through their specials page to see what is only available in Florida.

  • Check in on Yelp for a free dessert

  • Happy Hour is Monday-Friday from 4-8 p.m. and all night on the weekends.

$3.95 - House red, White wine, select import beers

$3.95 - Hugo and Aperol Spritz

$6.95 – Sangria

A brand new Vapiano just opened in Doral - go check it out!
